In January of 2020 I was invited to Lawrence Technological University to give a talk about some of the psychology behind video game engagement. That is, what kinds of things get players to focus completely on a game using great energy, enthusiasm, passion, and effort. The video and slides from that lecture are below.
Some of this talk draws on material from my forthcoming book, The Engagement Game: Why Your Workplace Culture Should Look More Like a Video Game, which is available this August so pre-order now. If you want a sneak peek at some of the things I’ll cover there, this is your chance.
A huge thank you to Lawrence Technological University for the invitation to give this talk and for putting this video together.
